Last Friday, the 10th, New Years Day performed a set on an American radio station. There, the group presented a moving and powerful cover of Pantera .
The band had already recorded a version of the track for the EP Diary Of A Creep , which was released in January 2018. At the time of its release, vocalist Ash Costello confessed to being a Pantera fan since she was a teenager.
“When I was in high school,” she said, “There were different groups of kids, and I would spend lunch with the group that listened to heavy metal. They listened to Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Slayer, Cradle of Filth , but the band that really caught my attention was Pantera. Those guitar riffs, the themes of the songs, everything.”
